Hybrid Reconstruction Gallery
This 43-year-old patient underwent genetic testing and was found to have a genetic susceptibility to breast cancer with a MUTYH gene mutation. She also had a strong family history of breast cancer. The patient had a previous bilateral breast augmentation with saline implants by another provider. Given her genetic testing results and family history, the patient decided to undergo bilateral risk reduction (preventative) nipple-sparing mastectomy with simultaneous hybrid bilateral deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flap and prepectoral silicone implant breast reconstruction (HyFIL®).
