Procedure Steps: Blepharoplasty

Eyelid surgery can be performed under either local or general anesthesia. When local is used, you will be awake during the surgery, but will not experience pain or discomfort.

For more involved surgeries, or if you are having several procedures in one surgical appointment, sedation or general anesthesia may be the appropriate choice.

Eyelid surgery typically ranges from about twenty minutes to two hours to perform, after which you can return home -- driven by a friend or family member.
